Taking a poll. What clothing repairs do you need?

So I am working on new class development.  I receive alot of requests from students who want to learn how to hem pants or sew a button. I am always surprised to hear this request but I have learned it can cost MONEY in NYC to have pants hemmed, starting at $10.00.

So tell me what clothing repairs do you need done all the time? Hole in the jeans? Hems? Ripped seams? Broken zippers? What do you wish you can fix on your own?

  1. my friends are always asking me to repair holes in their jeans. typically they are from holes in the back caused by heels, knee rips or in between the legs. people love their jeans and when they have a good pair, they will do anything to elongate their life!

  2. Yes, holes in jeans and elbows in sweaters ! And absolutely yes, for seams ! anywhere jeans, jackets etc. I think you are going to have full class for learning that skill :)

  4. I would love to learn how to darn socks. And maybe that skill could also be useful for repair holes in sweaters thanks to my moth problem? I just have no idea on these things.
